Romanc12
The Real Story
Born in Chicago, IL but raised in Panama and Puerto Rico for most of his life, Roman – alias - Rc.12 was exposed to the culture of reggaeton from different talents like General and Vico C. Struggling was no stranger to his upbringing, his mom, a single parent and mother of four, demanded an orderly and obedient household. His introduction and inspiration to music began with well known artist like Bob Marley, Yellow man, Ninja man and Shaba. The genre, “Reggaeton” was originated in Panama and used to be called “Reggae” en espanol. It all started with Jamaican instrumentals from original versions that were on the reverse of it. Puetoricans’ took it to the next level with artist well known like Daddy Yankee. Romac.12, like many upcoming artists started their underground music career and had a lot of recognition among promoters and producers. While revered by most struggling artists and accepted whole heartedly by the community, it only seemed natural that this music became his second language. RC brings back the original taste of the Caribbean with his creative lyrics and self produced beats. Although born with a passion for song writing his whole life, he succumbs to a normal life for now, but his soul is always inclined to write, sing, and produce first and foremost. His new album, soon to be released, has been called “The Reggaeton Revelation” of his time. He believes in a positive message. One ambition for him as an artist is to change the direction of this industry, “My kids should be able to sing my songs without using obscenities and degrading women.”
Many doors were shut for him, along with dozens of presented obstacles in his path, but like his mother always told him “Perseverance is what’s going to make the difference between winning and losing”
P.S. Currently unsigned he has been performing and promoting his career in NY, Miami and Orlando’s local clubs for several years. He most recently opened for Three Six Mafia at House of Blues, in Orlando, Florida and has four record labels reviewing his work for representation; finally he will get his break into the industry-which has been long awaited.
